Hi all! So I'm Nighthawk, female, single, dream yard and dying for some livestock.
(1)Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
totally new. I've cared for them before but nothing serious by any standards. Feeding and gathering eggs pretty much.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None.
(3) What breeds do you have?
hairy 4-legged feline breed. Oh, no birds yet.
(Seriously though, Simba is dumb as a sack of bricks)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I have a huge beautiful yard in the country and I'm dying to get some livestock. That's all I've ever wanted but I'm also aware of starting small. I'd love to get ducks honestly, but I'd be happy with chickens too.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
history re-enactment Viking era, not much otherwise. Don't have much of a social life. Love being outside, part of the reason I want to get livestock. Oh yeah! Just started getting into blacksmithing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
so far it's just me and the zoo. Current inhabitants are 2 indoor cats Whiskey and Maxi, 2 outdoor cats Clover and Simba, 2 snakes Jinx and Prince, and three snails, Boot Scoot and Boogie. I'm a production welder and anti-social full time.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community
