We're new to all of this! We're in southern Florida and were just able to move so we have a little bit of room to roam a couple of months ago... And we want it all! 😆 we're starting to settle in a bit and decided it was time to start the flock and our garden... so we're all in!

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since we got our birds. We got 16 chicks... sexed so hopefully we can say the girls 🤞
5 barred rock
5 white leghorns
6 red sexlinks
And we got 2 ducklings .. they were not sexed and I was wishing them into being 2 girls but.. I'm thinking we have a male and a female. But we have no idea what we're doing so... we'll wait and see.

We know nothing, have tons of questions and were researching ourselves to pieces (still are). Everytime I would search a question this forum would come up.. so why not join?🤷‍♀️ if you have any tips I'm open to knowledge!

Hope everyone is doing ok with the crazy covid going on. Happy "flocking" and gardening!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
You are going to need a coop that is 4 sq ft per chicken in size and a run that is 15 sq ft per chicken.
If you end up with a drake, be advised that he can injure or kill a chicken hen by mating her.
Ducks are also very messy and it's better to house them separately from the chickens.
