Hello
I'm 'new' to chickens in the sense that my parents had half a dozen rhode island reds when I was growing up...but I was 8 and didn't do anything except collect eggs.
So about 6 weeks ago my wife went to Uncle Donald's farm and came home with 7 chickens! With no coop, feed, or anything else we began our saga.
I will have to take pictures of our birds so maybe someone here can tell us what they are with more certainty (my wife of course didn't ask them at the farm)...but when I spoke to the farm on the phone I was told we had a mixture of polish/english bantam crosses and some jungle fowl hybrids. THey were all about 8 weeks old when we got them.
Then today somone brought us 4 more hens that are already laying...one is a silkie, one americana and the other 2 I'm not sure on.
I do have some questions but I will post them in the appropriate forums.
