Newbie near Raleigh

Good afternoon,
Just bought our first house and am going to be building a coop and getting chickens within the first 6 weeks. So excited, been planning for this day for years!! Any advice, help, groups in Raleigh would be so helpful.

Greetings from Idaho! This site helped me transform from 'newbie' to 'chicken geek'. However, the site makes you want more chickens, maybe a turkey or 3, maybe start some quail, oh, ducks!...be warned!

Welcome, it is great to have you! My biggest recommendation is to use hardware cloth instead of chicken wire.
