Hello! I am new to this site and looking for help. My hens are beginning to hatch some adorable chicks and we are so excited! Unfortunately the chicks got out and I think one of the other hens pecked its neck. It is missing a big chunk of skin on its neck and to make matters worse I've noticed some small bugs on it. I brought the chick inside and am trying to do all I can to help it. I bought some diatomaceous earth and rubbed on the chick to try and help. I'm hesitant to use pesticides on a wounded baby. I don't know what else to do? The chick is peeping, earring and drinking and seems healthy at this point. Anything more I can or should do? I put some neosporin on its wound and tried to wrap it, but the wrap made it unable to bend its neck to eat and drink. Help!!!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your chick, X2 on try posting in the Emergencies forum (with pictures if you can) hope the chick recovers.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. It would be good if you kept the chicks separated from the rest of the flock. Your injured chick doesn't need a wrap but, if her friends are picking at her wound, she may need to spend some time in a wire crate, so she can heal and still see the others.
