Newbie on Button Quail...question?

How the heck do you sex them? I have only had jumbo Borwns before these, and they sound WAYYY different, that was how I used to sex them, and then of course via the chest spots on browns. But, buttons...I have no idea. I have heard a couple sounding like they are laughing at me when I walk by...is that their crow? They are cute and all, but I don't want too many males. I only have 6 birds at the moment, and they haven't started laying yet. Do they lay around 8 weeks too? Anyway...guess that is enough questions for now

Males will have a wind sounding crow or a pew pew pew laughing sound. Females can laugh too. A good indicator on males is red feathers anywhere on the body, mostly on the vent. Red breast, some on wings, vent.

Okay, thanks! Going to look. The little laugh/crow is adorable. 2 out of 6 do that....could I be so lucky to just have 2 males?!?!
