Newbie question - when to switch to layer feed?

I have a mixed age flock - I have 3 that are about 13 weeks old, 3 that are about 9 weeks old, and 3 (kept separately) that are 2-6 weeks old. I am wondering if I should switch my oldest flock (9-13 weeks) to layer feed or keep them on the starter/grower feed? Does it make much difference?

Quick search and you'll get TONS of advice... a lot of different opinions on this... but most? seem to agree that you don't feed layer to birds not laying... better to keep everyone on grower, with calcium available for layers, than to switch all to layer feed and the growing ones not get the nutrients they need.

Least I THINK that's the majority...
