Pure curiosity. That's why I candle around Day 7. Works for me.I want to make sure the eggs are developing
If you set clean eggs in a sterile incubator and your hands are clean when you handle the eggs it is highly unlikely for bacteria to get inside. It doesn't matter if the eggs are developing or not, if bacteria gets inside you have a problem. I'm not sure if candling is going to find that for you though. If you sniff the eggs you should be able to detect a potential stench bomb.and that I'm not incubating a stench bomb.
Especially if kids or even older people are involved. I had a mature friend visiting one night when I was candling for lockdown. She was amazed when she saw the movement inside the egg. With kids candling every three days might be a good idea. And I would like to have a moment to marvel at the miracle that is a new life developing.
Then it's worth doing. That's the theory at least.![]()
Good luck. I don't think I have to tell you of all people to let us know how it goes.
