Newbie, runner hatching chicks query

Hi,

I've currently got a broody runner duck so shoved 6 chicken eggs under her to see what she'd make of them. A week in and she has been great so far, all 6 looking fertile. Anyone else experienced a duck raising chickens?

I haven't personally had a duck hatch chicks, although I have had a hen hatch ducklings..... I'm sure they'll do fine, as long as the duck doesn't try to teach the chicks how to swim .

Yes that is a worry !
Just hoping she doesn't get too confused when they hatch out chickens.

2 little chicks hatched today (day 20) and a very grumpy mum! Fingers crossed for more tomorrow!
