Newbie saying g'day from Australia

Hi there,
I'm new around here (clearly, right?). I'm in Sydney Australia. And have 4 chooks, 2 gorgeous black australorps and 2 bantams. I'Ve had them for 2 years in January. I have a love hate relationship with our girls. i love the eggs, I hate that they poop everywhere, especially on our new decking. I have two children, one who is great with the hens and the other is totally scared of them and refuses to go in the backyard if the chooks are out of the run.

Thats me in a nutshell.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. BYC has a large Aussie community - the more the better

I think everyone has birds that continue to potty in places they shouldn't. In hot weather maybe you could spray them with the hose when they come near the deck. That might put them off unless they love summer showers.
