Hello fellow Chick raisers!
I just started out begiining of April and am looking forward to fresh eggs, perhaps some fried chicken, and entertainment that only chickens can provide. I'm a "use what you've got" kinda guy and a minimalist, so I have converted half of my very large shed to be henhouse. It doesn't look real pretty on the outside like some custom built hen houses but will do the job of protecting my hens.
Not sure if I have roosters yet but I guess I wll know eventually. 6 chicks are about 9 weeks old. 5 more are 5 weeks old. The older are in the henhouse already and happy. The younger are still isolated but already very curious and wishing to jump out of the temporary pen and explore.
Now in Indiana (from California) I decided this was something to explore and try. The chicks caught my eye every time I visited a local stores in the Spring.
Respectfully,
Jason
