Newbie to chickens...

Hi all! Hubby and I are new to chickens. About 5 weeks ago we got 10 buff orpingtons...lost one...so we now have 9. They are supposed to be all pullets. One is on my radar as a roo, but based on all of the posts here, it is too early to tell.
Our other pets include 2 dogs, 1 cat and 3 parrots.
Our hobbies are camping and kayaking.
I will post pics soon, and thank you in advance for answers to questions I'm sure we will have...lol
