Hello, welcome to BYC. I'm sorry for the loss of your chick. Are you allowed to keep roosters where you are located?

Yes, we live out in the country, so that won't be a problem. I've read that "usually" buff orp roos are even tempered so

Thank you all for your condolences and welcomes! We don't know what happened with the one chick. It was fine in the morning and then a couple hours later it was dead. We had only had it for 4 days...
