Newbie to chickens

My husband and I just purchased two hens and a rooster this weekend, so new to us.
Will be needing lots of advice

Just curious, how do you know when a hen is pregnant?

Welcome to the wonderful world of chickens. I grew up with hens, and recently got back into the fun. Hens don't get "pregnant." They lay eggs. They will lay eggs whether there is a rooster present or not. But when there is a rooster, the eggs may be fertilized and if she is broody and incubates them, they will hatch into chicks. Different breeds begin to lay at different ages (within weeks of each other tho). How old are your hens?
