Hello all,

I am new here on BYC and near OKC. I am on other enthusiasts forums for other things. Anyhow I just bought a cancer ridden lady out of her chickens and realized I got in too deep. I don't have enough pens and need to build a coop. I wanted only 4 or 5 chickens but I bought her out and wound up with 11 Rhode Island Red hens. 2 Blue Splash Hens and 1 Blue Splash Rooster, and 14 Golden Lace Wyandote pullets. I didn't check city ordinances either. I realized I went around this the wrong way. I have 2.3 acres so I have room not in a subdivision. Any advice would be nice. Not looking for harsh criticism but could use some mentoring and advice. First thing I need to do is get a coop built. I have them in 2 different pens for now.

You might want to head for the Learning Center, and then branch out to forums that fit your needs. Is was very kind of your to take all her birds, one less thing for her to worry about.

Wishing you the best on your coop building. There are some really neat pallet coops out there that look relatively inexpensive. Just type pallet coop in the search bar, may be something to get you by till your other coops are ready.

Well I have to get something up in a hurry and with very little money to put into it. I decided to repurpose a greenhouse I have that we don't use. I have to clean out the blackberry vines and secure it. It is an A-frame and needs work but it is about 30 feet long and about 10 foot wide at the base. I have to do some repair work and attach a pen to it.
