Newbie to getting chickens

My name is Tracy, I love the Lord.. I am married since 1988 to Tim. Our son Tim jr. has found a beautiful women and now they are a blended family. Our city council is reviewing guidelines to allow chickens. It should pass this summer. I am so excited about building a run and home for them. I even have names. I would like buff orpingtons.

Hi Tracy, welcome to BYC! First word of advice, if you get one of those cut pre-fab chicken coops, realize that they will really only hold about half as many birds as it says it will. And if you ever have any chicken- related questions, this is the place to ask.
