Newbie to ostriches any advice?

I am considering raising a few ostriches and I hoping for some honest advice from others who have already been down the road. Any reply would be greatly appreciated! I love BYC because there are so many friendly knowledgable people who give such good advice. Thank you

When I was living in Arizona, ostrich and emu were becoming popular at the time, emu for meat even.

I don't know any ostrich keepers but the ones that have Emu's don't seem to have many problems with them. One thing,I would guess is true of ostriches also, make sure any young ones have GOOD feet. twisted feet, splayed feet, etc. can get much worse as they develop and without sound feet, they are nothing.I t takes strong feet to carry all that weight around.
