Newbie to site and Chickens.

The 2, 9 month old laying Black Copper Marans was an intentional.
There were never any Chickens. 😡 They weren't even in the same country. Once, the supposed seller shipped the Chickens, which never actually happened. The fake shipping company kept telling me I needed to pay for this and that. When I refused to give them anymore $, they kept saying, "Well, don't you want your chickens?" 😡 Um, that would've been nice. It all started on a Silkies page on FB when I looked for a local breeder. The woman recommended this place that was supposedly 4 hrs away. She claimed she had just picked up Chickens from there.
Luckily, I had already ordered my Silkies (2 weeks old at the time) from an actual place in Texas. And they arrived on time, no extra fees, shipped through USPS.
My amazing neighbor gave me her 7 week old female Black Copper Marans and the Cream Legbar chicks.
I won't be asking for recommendations on FB anymore.
I'm happy with my flock right now, even though I will have to wait a while for eggs.

Buying chickens off of FB is a gamble. So sorry you had to deal with all that! :hugs

I have been doing a ton of research and my Neighbor has been super helpful with any questions I have had. I'm sure I still have a lot to learn, so I'm here.

My Uncle raised Silkie and they were so friendly. I have a fear of birds but working on that.
I ordered White and Splash Silkies and have 3 of each.

I was given 2 other chicks by my Neighbor. They were both supposed to be Black Copper Marans but the one is growing a Crest and now looks much lighter.
My Silkies will be 4 week old tomorrow and The Black Copper Marans are about 6-7 weeks old. I have had them all for 2 weeks. Wow, have they changed!!

I found the site while searching Google to try to find out if both my Black Copper Marans are indeed Black Copper Marans.
