Newbie Too

Depends what you want. If you want a good egg layer, go to a local TSC they have Isa browns and production RIR. If you are looking for quality, find a breeder in your area,or if your into shipping, wherever a breeder resides. I get my chickens from both, my egg layers from TSC, and my silkies and soon to be gamefowl from a breeder.

I'm so glad you joined our community!

If you want something that lays well and is pretty, you should probably get them from a hatchery or from a feed store (though a breeder would work out, too). If you were going to show chickens, you'd want to get from a breeder. Most feed stores should be selling chicks around now, and hatcheries often sell all year round, so you should be able to find some chickens.
