The past two days my chicks have had runny rust colored diarrhea and i'm starting to get worried, I hope it's not cocci. This is our first batch of chicks,a mix of RIRs, Jersey Giants, Australorps, and Red Sussexes. They are 2.5 weeks old, mail order straight run, they had pasty butt for the first few days, but I just cleaned them up and it went away. They have had occasional diarrhea since they arrived, but nothing that had me worried until now. We moved them to an outside brooder 3 days ago and the temp inside ranges from low 80's to mid 90's, If it get's into the 90's I crack the lid to let some cooler air in. Bedding is hay and pine shavings, they have been on medicated feed for about a week, non medicated before that, and I was giving them an electrolyte powder in there water but haven't put it in the pst few days. I've given them scrambled eggs and grated carrots also to snack on. Please help!!! I really don't want any of them to die.

are they eating normal?? are they acting ok? our chicks started that way but got better after three days we changed there food to chick starter seed and it went away.... im sorry i hope some one with more experience can help you!

Thanks for your reply. The are eating fine, hopefully they will get better in a few days, I'm thinking that maybe the move outside might have stressed them out- we'll see
