Hi all. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and just picked up my first 5 golden comets. I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you guys and thanks for such a great forum.

Welcome to BYC, Rodney. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :eek:) Golden Comet is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Link which are laying machines. You should get loads of large, brown eggs from those five girls. :eek:) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. How great to have you join this great community! Congrats on your golden comets! They sure are great birds! Lay lots of eggs. Are you having fun with them? I hope so! Chicken raising is just so much fun!
 
I'm having lots of fun. Just sitting on pins and needles waiting for my first egg. I'm almost sure it will be a couple more weeks. I just got them a week ago and they told me they are 6 mid and laying however I know it takes a little while for them to calm down after a move.
