I'm in southern Louisiana. By the end of next month, it will be very warm here. It's in the mid 70's right now but I'm sure very cold where the chicks are being shipped from.

You might look at Ideal Hatchery over in Texas. They are about an 8 hour drive from Folsom but not that far north. Shipping should be pretty direct.

I spent over three decades in South Louisiana, mostly in the New Orleans area. Still have kids in Baton Rouge and Belle Chasse.

I also have family in Kansas and Tennessee. They are all a day’s drive from here. From Louisiana, not so much. So I’ll stay put.

However when I think about crawfish, Jazz Fest, redfish and speckled trout fishing, crab boils and crabbing, seafood, music and many other things there is a temptation.

Yeah, there's no place like New Orleans for food and "river sports". I think we have more rivers than just about anywhere.

I'd love to move to Tennessee.

If you go to your states thread on here, you might find better quality birds really close to you. I know those of us on my states thread trade birds a lot and help out the newbies..

No sense getting 25 birds if you only want 6-8 dozen a month. I have 16 layers and get a dozen or more a day right now.
