Hi, I am Susan and I am raising silky chickens quite by accident. All of them are rescues. Eight of them were 4 weeks old and desperately needed a new environment. The other three, 2 Chinese silkys and 1 polish silky adults, were left by a home owner. So my brood has started at 11 and I feel like a new 1st time mom.

Hiya, Susan, and welcome to BYC! I can't understand how anyone could abandon chickens or any pet for that matter, much less gorgeous helpless silkies. Bless you for taking them in!

We have a Learning Center here, info about Coops, etc. Just check under Articles and go from there to what you'd like to learn about. As always, you can ask us greeters, too, and we'll try to help or point you to the right forum here.
