Hello all! My name is Kate and I recently became a first time chicken Momma. I look forward to raising a happy healthy flock and of course eating lots of oh so lovely eggs. These are my girls (and maybe one roo).
Cecilia, Brandy, Jolene, Fancy, and Sweet Jane. (Jane, a Barred Rock is the pullet in question)Fancy is hiding behind Jane.

Hi Kate and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. Your chicks look like they doing well. This link may help right now - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/raising-your-baby-chicks

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread#post_3239224

Welcome!

Aaaaw, such little cuties!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

You can post photos at "what breed or gender is this." Its best to wait till they are 6-8 weeks of age. Is the buff one older than the others?

Right on, I'll do that. They are 2 weeks in this picture taken a few days ago. If you are taking about the one on the far left she is supposed to be a Rhode Island Red and is the same age as the rest. Definitely the largest of the group.
