Hello
Kath from Lancashire
Had 3 bantams some years back.
Came home from auctions with a serama hen and roo few weeks back
Added to the menagerie with 2 serama pullets now approx 9 was old.no idea how old the auction chucks are but hen laid on the way home
Roo is mega active so perked my interest in hatching, messed first up with staggered hatch, bator probs etc
so started again with 5 new eggs.
My hen went broody whilst I was away, the chuck sitters 'helped' by removing hens eggs from her chosen sitting site, in a box full of straw in the greenhouse.
Both sitters said they couldn't get her out so left her and put her eggs (3) in 2 incubators that I have 2 sets in of hers 10 days apart
She had one egg left and was sitting tight so I put five of hers back under her, 2 out of 5 hatched one is absolutely perfect and appeared under her in the 5 days left from incubating.
one was 3/4 zipped, I left it for a few hours keeping an eye on it whilst googling, it was like the poor thing was super glued in, did as I read on here and gently wrapped in a damp warm towel , out it came, day after after mum had it a night, it's limping badly and has a swollen hock and curled toes
I'm so afraid it's in pain. Iv given it a sticking plaster 'flipper ' and it's in the brooder eating drinking and hopping about.
Sorry iv got carried away on an introduction page, ill start a new thread about my worries
Oh I have a chihuahua, ill tell about him and the stand off with the roo in another thread
Thanks, I joined to be educated after reading loads on here, I found you by googling all about hatching etc
Regards
