Hello! I'm Rose, and just started raising chickens 2018. I have 1 female Cornish and 8 Rhode Island Reds. Started with 4 Cornish but with Hawks and a bear in the neighborhood I'm down to 1. My Reds are laying everyday and my Cornish occasionally. I have my Cornish in the basement because breed doesn't like cold. I let my Reds free-range practically every day. I also enjoy gardening, bird watching and doing jigsaw puzzles. I am learning and read constantly on how to raise chickens correctly. They are so fascinating and interesting!

Welcome Rose! Sorry for your losses :hugs

The bear just matted down the fencing and reached in their dome home and grabbed him! We only found a few feathers in the morning! The girl that was with him was fine!
