Thanks for all the welcoming posts! This is a very friendly forum and we’re glad to be a part of it. We have our day 2 into our coop build. Lots of good ideas around here. Truth be told, we haven’t really gone off any real plans. The wife has the ideas and I’m doing my best to bring them to life. All in all it has been a fun project to do together and we’re hoping our hens appreciate all the hard work!

Welcome Spike! I’m a newbie myself and refer to this site for EVERYTHING lol! My story is close to yours, I started right off in the deep end. Since my first delivery in December I have built two coops, one for my bantam frizzle Cochins and silkies and the other for my mix of standards. Now I’m working on my third coop for all my EE’s.. and to think I laughed when I heard the phrase “chicken math”
