Hello!
I just recently got chicks for the first time and have no idea what I'm doing. I find myself looking up different things everyday. I originally wanted them for eggs.
We got the majority of them from Tractor Supply and a few from our local feed store.
I dont know all the breeds we have but I *think* I know what a few are.
We got some Easter eggers/Americanas, leg horns, and 2 meat chickens (although I didn't realize this at the time), I think we also have a couple Bantams? They have feathers on their feet. and we have 1 black silkie.
I'll post photos as soon as I can get some good ones. ♥️

Howdy Stevie, welcome here to Backyard Chickens. Chickens are not difficult to keep at all. Feed them, make sure they have water and a safe place to lay eggs and roost and they are fine! Enjoy your chicken journey. If you have any questions you will find plenty of experienced chicken people here to give you great answers! Again Welcome!:clap

Welcome Stevie! Like you I was a newbie 6 yrs ago has no clue about chicks or chickens. One thing I had at that time was the boy in me’s desire and goal not to lose a single chick in the process of learning how to raise them. Proud to say I have not lost a single chick on my watch, raising all of them to ”egghood” age six years in a row due to mentorship in here.
