My name is Trish and I am new to all things chickens. Our friends own a micro farm and kept telling us our property would be perfect for chickens. After some convincing I agreed. My husband bought me 6 chicks for my birthday. The rest is history...

(2)We have 19, yes 19 chickens. I quickly became a chicken lady.

(3) Original 6 - 2 black sex links, 2 - Americana, 2 Calico Princess
Received 6 mixed flock from friends - dad is chocolate Orpington and moms could be Barred rock, Rhode Island Red or Americana.
New 7 is why I am here. We are so confused. Facebook purchase.

(4) Mostly food and side business potentially. Have grown much more attached than expected though.

(6)2 grown children, almost empty nesters, enjoying this new hobby

I see that you've already fallen victim to chicken math. It's amazing how we always need more, different breeds etc.

Where are you located? I'm in central Alberta, Canada. I primarily raise chanteclers and buckeyes, but I've got a few others tucked away

Our chickens are still pretty young (12 weeks-ish). Still trying to figure this whole thing out. This has been an exciting adventure but definitely need to learn more.
