(1) We are new to chicken keeping only had them since April
(2) We had 8 chickens but one got poorly and had to be put down then we got 4 1 day old chicks for one that had gone broody but only three of those survived.
(3) The original 8 were hybrids the 4 new chicks 2 were RIRs and 2 are Wyandotte
(4) The very best thing about keeping our own chickens is undoubtedly the awesome eggs.
(5) I like to read, knit and play silly games on the computer.
(6) We also have three Border Terriers

Its never easy to lose them. 
I think it’s great that you have a hen willing to brood. It makes it so much easier to explain where the fifteen new chicks came from.
