Actually I don’t think they should eat layer feed until they are laying age. IMO 6 weeks is too young and the extra calcium could damage a smaller chick.

Sorry, I meant for once they are of laying age. I should have specified that.

Laying feed is for layers only. It also doesn't have all the vitamins and minerals that a feed meant for chicks would have.
