Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.

My tip is to do lots and lots of research on proper housing, feed and breeds for your area and make decisions about each.
THEN build your coop and run.
THEN get your chicks/chickens.
And brood directly in the coop using a brooder plate. Everyone will be better off for it.

I also use tarps on the sides of the run to minimize the wind.
