Hello,
I have decided to join this forum after receiving a lot of very helpful information from here.
I am fairly new at raising chickens. Have a lot of fond memories as a child, going to my aunt's house and watching the chickens roam freely in the yard.
Last spring, with the help of a friend and her brooding hen, I brought home my first young chicks, 5 barred rock. They have provided my husband and I (along with family and friends), some delicious eggs, and many hours of entertainment. I am looking forward to getting more chicks this spring for egg laying, and also would like to try my hand at raising some for meat.
Looking forward to interacting with the folks on this forum and gathering a weath of information.
Thank you.
