We just got 12 Black Star from the local feed store...been reading up a lot I believe they are about 8 weeks old.

I have one hen I think may be a Black Star, but it was one that my DIL bought and decided she didn't want it. It was going to get eaten if i didn't claim it. She only wants her Jersey Black Giants now and has butchered anything that doesn't comply except some of her Golden Comets. I latched on to 4 of those when she was cutting back on her layers. She is an all black chicken with some white feathers from her head down her neck. She lays a brown egg almost as brown as the GCs except with some speckles. A good layer and was very broody when DIL had it, might be why she wanted to butcher it.
