I just went out to the coop, And there were two "no-shell" eggs....They weren't from my normal layer...Is it normal for newbie layers to lay soft shell/no shell eggs? How do I get hard shells?

Yes, young layers often lay deformed eggs. Really nothing to worry about,

they will start laying hard eggs, as the shell-less eggs are normally somthing that doesn't happen

that often.

Hmmm...I hope so!! When my other hen (that has been laying for a few weeks) started, she had hard eggs...

Ah well.... I am glad some other girls started laying finally!

There isn't a chance that they don't have enough calcium is there? I give them an egg every now and then, and they eat calcium-layer food.... Sorry for all the questions, I am a newbie at chicken raising....

Do they harden up after a while? Does anyone constantly have soft shelled eggs?
