Hi there, just joined. I have a bantam and a silkie that are less than two months old. We got them at a petting zoo as chicks. We built them a coop and they've adjusted well. Missed having little ones, so just got a leghorn and a RIR. Thought hmmm why not and got 2 ducklings! Can they all live together once full grown? How do I keep the ducks water from freezing? Just trying to plan ahead. Thanks!

Hello and :welcome

You can keep the chickens and ducks together, although they might fight. Just make sure they eat their own respective feeds :p

You can get some special water heaters that you put your water on to keep from freezing. I'm not sure on the details of those. Perhaps you could do a search of the site, I'm prettys ure they've been talked about before.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and enjoy the site. :D

. Yes ducks and chickens can live together but you must watch that your drake doesn't breed your hens.
