So sorry not to have been intouch with you sooner. You know how things get away from you. We have had a lot of rain lately and my girls got flooded out so brought them up to the patio for a little creature comforts. I have now moved my old coop to more in the yard than where it was and is about to get a make over. Thanks to the people on this website for providing plans for coops it is a blessing. I will put a before and afterwards picture. I did by 4 chickens but went down the coop one morning and one had died. So I still have 4 chickens and the older bird doesnt lay eggs but cant get rid of her. I have been putting some diamecetous earth and molasses in there feed and their feathers have such wonderful colours I am amazed. The eggs are also very yellow. Yum.
I am not sure on how to get on the "Where are you, where am I" bit in this forum but will have a look.
It does seem a long time since I made a post but thank you for the welcome. I will post some photos of the girls for you to see, I am also doing a make over on my coop as it is rather a little worse for wear. I have also brought it up in the yard so the girls dont get flooded out like we have had over the last few months. Me wading ankle deep in water and brring the girls up to the patio. When it is finished I will post a picture. The people on this website have been good to post the plans for the coop which is just great. I am not tradesperson, just an alround handy person so if it doesnt go together as well as it should I will refer to the plans.
This is my vegie patch after all the rain, couldn't get to clear it. The next picture is it after being cleared and the girls have come in to clear up any seeds and bugs.
I have since planted some tomatoes and peppers. It is autumn here and can still grow these in a sub=tropical climate. I have the netting over to keep the girls out and other bugs that may want to eat the vegetables.
