Hi everyone,
After gleaning information from this website for the last six months, I have made the decision to start a small (3-4) flock of hens, likely from chicks, within the next couple of weeks. My wonderful hubby, who worked on farms as a teenager and has no interest in raising hens, is out there converting my raised garden into a coop and run. My only experience with chickens has been when my mother bought five chicks when I was a child and raised them in an open dog run. They lasted about three months before the raccoons found them
