Hoping to start my new chicken/duck adventure soon. Phonecalls to made to make sure there aren't any ordinances to worry about. Trying to decide what type of fencing to use. Needs to look nice and tidy from the road so the neighbors don't have a fit. Any suggestions? My chicken paddocks will be permanent.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the ordinances, hope you are able to have chickens. You might want to stop by the Coops section, there are a quite a few coops that have fancy run fencing with them that might suit your needs, usually hardware cloth is used to cover the framework but picket fencing etc makes for a cute frame and shrubbery and planters etc really add to the curb appeal https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/2/Coops

Welcome to BYC!

X3 on the coop section. Lots of great ideas from other members that live in urban environments.

Good luck with all your projects and welcome to our flock!

Could you put up some privacy fencing ( wood fence/bamboo /vinyl etc.) around the chicken area. The less neighbors can see - they better. There are some very attractive coops that look more than kids play houses. Of course that can work against you, as neighbors will think their kids should play there.
