Hi I'm new to chickens
Was scared of birds but loving my girls now have had them for 7 weeks! 3 have been laying but 1 hasn't they were 22 weeks when we got them
But today all 4 laid and 1 of them laid 2!!! Is this normal

glad you joined us! I've never had a chicken lay 2 eggs in one day, but I guess it's possible.

Welcome! I have one that has layed twice in a day a couple of times or she will lay 1 extra extra large egg with two yolks. I knpw its her because she is the only one laying blue eggs.

New layers can release two yolks a day for a while till they get their egg machines in gear. Takes a couple months, but they should start laying normally soon.

Some of the breeds or hybrids with really high lay rates will occasionally produce two eggs in the same day when they are at their laying peak.
