Hi all I am new here ! We are 'rescuing' 3 hens tommrow from my daughters primary school she is leaving to go secondary in sept and the school can't keep the 9 they have so I said I would have 3 .... Now I know they are very young about 7-8 weeks so I been told and will be either vorwerk silver campine exchequer leghorn or wellsummer as that is the ones school has . I've never kept chickens before but have had many types of pets including lizards parrots cats and dogs to name a few over the years ... I hope to get lots and lots of helpful advice although I have done lots of research and spoken to my sister who used to keep chickens ...

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chickens and made lap pets out of the calmer and more gentle breeds. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
