Hello all,

New chicken owners here...again. We had a flock for a couple of years about 5 years ago. We started with 6 and lost two before we re-homed them because we were preparing to move. It has taken us a few years to get our new flock going again.

We have 2 human boys and a german shepherd girl and we live on 1/3 of an acre right in town. Our town does allow for hens but not roos. Our German Shepherd is is young, but is finally calming down about chasing our chickens around the run (from the outside). We hope to be able to let our chickens range here soon with the dog watching over them. That will be interesting if we can make it happen.

This time around we started with 12 and lost one before it was a week old. Now I've got what I think is a hen crowing so I've finally signed up to get some help making sure she is a she.
