That's great!! How many and of what are you hatching? I've only got 10 Golden Comet eggs in there right now, darn hens are not laying very well right now, my husband thinks its because of this cold weather we have been having

I have 26 golden buff eggs cooking right now. (Same thing as your Golden Comets) I have 24 right now and just LOVE them to death. I have never had such "ladies and Gentlemen" in the coop before!

I candled my eggs today, and it looks like a few of them are very porous which I'm not too sure as to what that means for the chick and/or hatchability of those eggs??? However I did see definite movement in 7 eggs, 2 of which are porous (again not to sure as to what this means besides the way the egg looks when candling). It was definitely a lot harder to see the movement in the porous eggs but it was there. And as for the jumbo size egg that I believe has come from Bonnie, our unknown but possibly a maran hen, has veins and visible movement so here's to crossing our fingers and toes on this one, I'm really looking forward to seeing if it's Bonnie's she is just such a great hen and would love more of her.

Like I said before, I am about 3 days behind you. Tonight when I was turning eggs, I candled a couple just for fun. I saw dark areas, but no movement. Then I went to a page in BYC that shows pictures of bad eggs and good eggs. They all looked exactly the same to me! lol....One thing it said was porous eggs rarely hatch, but movement is good ~~ If I know nothing else (which I don't)! lol

I have confirmed that ALL 10 of my eggs are viable even the 3 porous eggs. If only my husband was excited about this as I am I could have someone help me take pics of it. Oh well maybe tomorrow night I can get him to take a few pics for me. But it is very cool to see the embryos moving around in there!!! If only I had four or five hands to get some good pictures of it..... LOL

Be patient and in about 3 more days, say either wed or thursday, and then candle them again and you will see which ones are viable for sure. I had some that looked like maybe quitters yesterday but today you can really see so much more.

Check it out got the hubby to help out tonight and now we have video!! This is sooooo coooollllll!!!!!!!!! Awesome really!!
