Hello..I usually put those babies into a Kleenex lined margarine container and leave them till they are up on their feet in the incubator..

That's perfectly normal, what you're seeing there. If you want you can carefully cut off the gunk, if it's still attached. Just be careful not to pull on it. The little one should find its feet soon.
