newborn chick

I have a newborn chick with a yellow protrusion from it's rear. Is it not fully developed? Is there anything I can do for it? It seems otherwise ok.

I'm new at raising backyard chickens and have a lot to learn.

sorry I can't answer your question, just wanted to jump in and say

It's probably the yolk sac. It should dry up on its own - not to worry!

Sounds like an unabsorbed yolk sac.

It should be absorbed within the next 24 hours or so.
