Newborn chicky feet

So I just hatched a single chick last night about 10 ish. It seems to be walking weird. My dad says it doesn't have enough strength yet, but I think there is something wrong with its feet.
Any advice? Is it normal?

Also because its alone, will it need a friend? I hear they get lonely...

It's seems to be unable to uncurl it's feet. Does it stand on them regularly with the toes flat?
Chickens are social animals and do better with at least one buddy. Most farm stores have chicks right now so you can get her a friend. Until then a small mirror and a small plushy are helpful.

No it walks or tries to walk on its hocks. I saw something about taping the toes straight...

Yes, they can be taped. I looked it up on YouTube and there are videos of how to do it. I don't know how to share the link though, sorry. Old and technology dumb.
