Hi- I am learning everything I know here about chicks the Easter bunny brought me this year. So they grow FAST. Thery are small chickens now- feathers, flying and all. How soon can I take them outside. I have them in a horse stall in my stable.

Welcome and enjoy! Got mine this month too, their growth, activities and personalities have been so fun to watch. This site has helped me tremendously learn what I need to know.

It all depends on where you live and the temperature outside. When they are born, chicks need to be in 95-100 degrees. You can drop that temperature 5 degrees every week. So, Easter was 3 weeks and 5 days ago. That means the chicks still need to be at around 80 degrees (in 2 days they can drop to around 75 degrees).

If your outside temperature is close to that, then you can move them outside.
