Yes, but a bird needs to sit on the egg for it to hatch. As long as you collect the eggs weekly, that won't happen.

Fertilized eggs are completely safe to eat. That's no problem, we all start somewhere!

Welcome to BYC. As already stated fertile eggs are fine to eat, and there will be no development unless they are incubated. Enjoy your flock.

Hello everyone I have 5 ducks, 2 call ducks (1 is a drake), 2 Cayuga, and 1 khaki campbell, all female except for that one. My calls are roughly 15 weeks old and I've noticed my drake is pinching the top of my female call duck on the neck but not getting on top. I've also noticed my khaki laying across the water flirting. My question is we were wanting an all female flock for eggs however we ended up with 1 drake. How do I properly separate the drake from the others without them stressing or crying. I'm super in love with them so I don't want to upset them in any way. It's spring here in Australia and roughly 30 degrees. Should I fence off something in the pen? Can they still sleep together? Will they have to be separated forever? Is it only on water they will mate? Any help would be appreciative.
