Good Sunday morning to you all. I am the care taker of 7 baby chicks(all different breeds). One little Rooster and 6 little hens. I want to learn as much as I can to do right by my little friends. These girls will one day provide us with eggs and little Homer will be the boss and protector. Any and all advice will surely be appreciated. Thank you for letting me join. My only concern now is that I have a welsummer hen that the rest ignore and she is the bottom of the pecking order. The little rooster is the only other Welsummer. In the beginning, he would hang with her but now like the rest ignores her. Is there anything I can do to help little Frances or is this just the way it is?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Wait until the pullets get old enough where they start laying. She may always be at the bottom of the pecking order but she'll be more readily accepted into the flock.
