Hi guys,
I found this website when I was looking to find information about ducks hatching and raising baby chicks. I am the third daughter in a family of 8. there is one brother and 5 girls in the kids, and a Mum and Dad. I live on a small farm with 12 hens, one rooster, and one duck. 10 of the hens are ISA browns, and three are ISA cross Rhode Island.I am the one to take care of them in my family. My one duck in the lot hasn't got a drake, so she stole chicken eggs and decided to hatch them. It hasn't been entirely successful, but not a total fail. we decided to take the chicks away from the duck because she was too heavy for them. so far, out of the 6 to hatch 1 has survived. 4 of them were squashed by the mum, and the other got sick and died. when I found this website it really helped my, and also has encouraged me to start raising chickens and ducks more regularly. Thanks guys I now have a new hobby.
